Wedding bells and celebrating the harvest!!

Wedding fun filled the air in October as we got to celebrate the marriage of one of my oldest friends. Lauren and Lance had the perfect day for their wedding at a beautiful location on the Ohio River.
These pictures don't do it justice. It was truly breathtaking with the fall colors, gentle breezes, and warm fall sunshine.
I'm so blessed by these girls. Lauren and Abby have been a part of my life for 15 years and walked with me through it all - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the incredible.
After the wedding festivities, we jumped into celebrating the fall and harvest time. We try to move the focus off of halloween, though we do let our children have fun with costumes and trick-or-treating. We spend lots of time talking about thankfulness, how so much of what God provides for us grows from the ground, and we need to be thankful for that harvest.
Ainsley was just along for the ride. Note the packnplay in the background: pretty much gave up on pack and play time. I would put her in it and she would SCREAM and WAIL until rescued. Messed up on that, but she is actually doing better with it now. She does time outs in the pack and play now and sometimes if I ask her if she needs a time out, she signs please and goes to get in a for a few minutes. Ha!
This one adores her Daddy. That's about all that can be said about that.
Sadie Beth thought carving the pumpkin was pretty much one of the coolest deals ever.
She named him "Carvey the Harvest Pumpkin."

We had so much fun trick or treating with our little Abby-Cadabby. She was definitely into it this year and as we walked through the neighborhood kept exclaiming, "Let's try that house!"

Ainsley was actually pretty miserable the entire trick-or-treating experience. She hadn't napped well and was tired. However, at this point I believe I had just given her a reeses cup to eat and that temporarily improved her outlook on life.
